Communications

We aim to amplify resistance activities and help build coalitions in Western Massachusetts and beyond. We assist with maintenance of the event calendar and other communications. We are passionate about working together to create and disseminate messages about issues, events, and protests in real and digital spaces, to educate and motivate others to join us in active resistance.

Community Solidarity

We work to protect those at special risk from Trump actions (immigrants, trans folks, BIPOC, women, disabled folks, etc.).

Letters to the Editor

We enjoy reading, writing, and sharing ideas. We meet every two weeks on Zoom to discuss important issues and share ideas for Letters to the Editors of our local papers (and beyond).

Onboarding

We welcome and orient new members and help them become actively involved in the activities and campaigns of IN‑SLWM.

Phone Banking

We call voters (usually in swing states) to inform and encourage them to vote for or against specific candidates or policies. We meet together on Zoom, and there’s always a full training to start and lots of support throughout. All are welcome!

Postcarding

We conduct campaigns to get out the vote and raise awareness of key issues or candidates in key races.

Protecting the Social Safety Net

We are concerned with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, school lunches, education, housing, veterans’ health and more. Each meeting we share relevant information among ourselves, and work on informing a wider audience about how individuals and communities are being impacted by federal legislation and executive orders. We are action oriented and welcome new project ideas. The team recently organized a rally on Social Security in Springfield, Massachusetts, submitted a petition to the Massachusetts Attorney General regarding Social Security disruptions, and members regularly attend safety-net-related and other protests around Western Massachusetts. Our meetings are biweekly, mainly on Zoom.

Protests/Standouts

We take it to the streets. We make public the widespread opposition to the Trump regime. We inform and activate those who are not paying attention, and remind people what’s at stake. We target corporations who support the regime. We are on overpasses, along roads, in stores, in the streets. We are nonviolent, but loud. (We also have fun.)

Reproductive Healthcare Access

We’re dedicated to raising awareness about reproductive healthcare access. We balance awareness raising with tangible actions to ensure that every person is able to make informed choices about their own own bodies and futures.

Tech and Security

The team provides tech support and guides communication practices for IN‑SLWM.

Veterans Action

We are a valiant group of people who lead and organize events to protect Veterans Affairs (VA) and federal jobs, VA benefits, and veteran rights impacted by the federal government. We also rally veterans and all allies to support and attend Indivisible events in our area. Together, we will grow and we will defeat MAGA and will save our democracy.
