Rupert Murdoch Owes Us an Apology

Rupert Murdoch and Fox News owe us, the American people, an apology. If you are like me, you really hate to be lied to. I remember telling my young son when he lied to me once, “You have damaged my trust in you; that trust will have to be rebuilt.”  Rupert Murdoch admitted in sworn testimony that he allowed Fox News to lie to us. He knowingly allowed Fox News Anchors and reporters to lie about the 2020 election, telling us it had been stolen, that Trump had won, when in fact Trump had lost.

Why did he do it? He did it from fear that viewers would leave if they heard the truth, resulting in a loss of revenue for the company. What is the result?  Look at all the anger and mistrust that now swirls around us because so many believed what they heard from what they considered a reliable news source. Just as I expect myself and anyone in my family or my community to apologize when they tell a lie, I expect the same from people who lead large corporations and whose power is so much greater than that of an individual. I say it again, Rupert Murdoch, you and Fox News owe the American people an apology. Please write to him and request that he publicly apologize and promise to never do this again.
